Team building is most effective in a sociable and fun environment. A Berlin treasure hunt is both of these. Your staff will be fully engaged for the whole time - no standing around waiting for their turn.
To win the day's treasure will require teamwork, communication, lateral thinking, problem solving and negotiating skills - all key skills required by a dynamic and successful team.
Your Berlin treasure hunt is available for a wide range of technologies. For a start, there is the good old traditional paper and pen version.
But forward thinking 21st century business is often conducted by smartphone or tablet computer ... so is the Berlin treasure hunt.
All types are available as DIY or fully managed.
Berlin has a reputation of being one of the most exciting cities in Europe and is a vibrant venue for your international treasure hunt.
Despite the destruction created by the Allied forces bombing during the second world war, Berlin still retains a wealth of interesting architecture and historical quarters. There are churches, castles and gardens dating back to the 17th century.

How it Works
Your Berlin (and Potsdam if you want) treasure hunt or scavenger hunt will have factual, fun and clues that will make you groan when you work out the answer..........there is a shopping list and a word quiz, as well as photographs to take thus keeping all team members busy.
There are more clues and photo challenges than they could possibly complete in the time available - that is where the planning comes in.
Teams need to be back to mark the Berlin treasure hunt at the finish location on time or risk losing points for every minute late. The marking session is great fun with teams marking their own results under the watchful eye of another team member, but the organiser's decision is final (unless swayed by a bottle of red wine!!!!!!!!!!!)....these marking sessions are always good entertainment with plenty of banter and tension as teams watch their results unfold.
Marking of the smartphone or tablet Berlin treasure hunt is automatic but each team has no idea of the scores of the other teams until all is revealed at the finish venue. Clues can be answered or skipped and hints are available if teams are struggling for answers ... but at a points cost.
Results sessions are always interesting whether your team is in a pub, conference room or Continental cafe.
Your Scavenger or Treasure hunt can be written with start and finish locations to suit you and the photo tasks ensure that you have a lasting memory of your day.
Answering the clues and winning the day's treasure requires good communication, teamwork and plenty of creative thinking.
Berlin is an exciting and vibrant city in which to have your treasure hunt, since the removal of the Berlin Wall, which divided the city during the Cold War and beyond, there has been a policy of re-development. On your treasure hunt you will see the old and the new.
The region of Berlin has been settled for 2000 years or more, although the earliest traceable settlement directly on the site of Berlin is from the 8th century. Early in the 9th century, the name Berolina first appeared in Latin documents however it was not until the middle of the 13th century that the name Berlin is seen. The famed tree lined boulevard "Unter den Linden" was created in the mid 17th century and the symbol of Berlin, the Brandenburg Gate came about a century later. The modern symbol of the city is perhaps the Alexanderplatz, built in the 1960s at the height of the cold war, this 368 metre tall building could be the perfect place for the post treasure hunt meal. Rotate while you eat to get a 360 degree view of the streets that you have just explored.
Despite the destruction created by the Allied forces bombing during the second world war, Berlin still retains a wealth of interesting architecture and historical quarters. There are churches, castles and gardens dating back to the 17th century. With such a long and chequered history, Berlin is full of interesting nooks and crannies that will make your team building a pleasure.
You may also consider a visit to Potsdam for your treasure or scavenger hunt - founded in the 10th century, it became the seat of the 18th century Prussian Royal Family. The fabulous Baroque palaces rival other Royal residences such as Versailles and Windsor (where we also have treasure and scavenger hunts) and the historic Dutch Quarter offers much of interest too. Potsdam was once the centre of the German film industry. There are plenty of cafes and beatuiful streets, perfectly suited to a leisurely stroll (or, more likely, the manic chase to find the answers to as many of the treasure hunt clues as possible!)
Why the treasure hunt works for team building
The Berlin treasure hunt works because it is team building by stealth.
Staff are notorious for detesting team building away days. They expect either touchy-feely activities or barrel and plank exercises in the rain!
Team building only works when staff are relaxed and receptive. Which is exactly the atmosphere created by the Berlin treasure hunt. Away from the office and with an engaging activity - perfect!
The treasure hunt is team building brought into the 21st century.
You can sit back knowing the company's team building budget has been well spent
